I live in a big Midwest city where the natives have huge tribes of family and friends from kindergarten. I often have heard them say they didn't have time for more friends or new neighbors because there already so many social obligations.

Their time is worn thin by family obligations and opportunities for community and communion. I feel happy for them while they complain about the endless parade of celebrations of life and death where they are surrounded by people they have known all of their lives.

I, perhaps like you, have a tiny, quiet family who take pride in minding their own business and never asking a personal question or offering an opinion.

I long for a big, noisy, nosy family to share life with.

This is my gift. Feeling my yearning points me toward my spiritual expansion and opportunity for contribution.

This yearning that I feel prompts me to reach out to the global community. I share what I know and feel through my websites, my coaching clients and with those who subscribe to my e-mail series. I build relationships with those across the nation and across the world. As we build community I am certain that we heal the world.

We are enriched when we reach out and offer connection to others. We enrich the world in unknown ways.
